SizeScope — Disk Space Visualizer

Publisher: Scott Dengler — Last updated December 2025

SizeScope collects nothing. It runs entirely on your computer, never connects to the internet on its own, and never sends your file names, folder names, sizes, or scan results anywhere. There is no account, no sign-up, no analytics, no crash reporting, no telemetry, and no ads.

What the app does

SizeScope reads the folders and drives you choose and measures file and folder sizes to draw its visual map. All processing happens locally on your device. Scan history snapshots (folder paths and their sizes) are stored on your own PC to power the growth-tracking feature — they never leave your device. Cleanup actions affect only the locations you choose.

The app stores a small amount of information on your device only: your first-run date (to manage the 30-day Pro trial), your license key and email (if you activate Pro), and scan snapshots for growth comparison. These stay in your own user profile and are never transmitted.

Purchases

If you buy a Pro key, payment is handled by our payment processor (currently Stripe). They collect the information needed to complete the transaction (such as email and payment details) under their own privacy policy. We receive only your email address, which we use solely to generate and send your license key. We do not store or sell customer lists.

What the app does not do

Collect, transmit, or store any personal data for tracking. Upload your file names, folder names, sizes, or scan results. Use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs. Require an internet connection or an account. Access anything outside the folders you explicitly select.

Permissions

The app needs read access to the folders you scan and the ability to delete files only where you explicitly request cleanup. It requests no administrator rights and makes no system changes.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at the same URL and noted in the app's listing. The core promise will not change: your files and your data stay on your computer.
